I am Adis — and this is my city
I was born in Sarajevo, grew up between Baščaršija and the hills, and came back after university because guiding felt like the most honest way to share what I love. I work with Genuine Sarajevo because we agree on the basics: small groups, licensed standards, no commission games, and history told with respect — especially the hard parts.
How I guide
I talk a lot — guests joke about it — but I pause for questions, coffee, and silence when a place needs it. Latin Bridge is not a punchline; the siege is not entertainment. I want you to leave feeling capable, not dependent — able to order coffee correctly, find Kazandžiluk alone, and understand why Sarajevo roses matter.
Training and licensing
I completed Bosnia's official guide certification: history, geography, ethics, first aid. I renew training regularly. Licensing is not vanity; it is the minimum standard when you represent a wounded city to the world.
What I love showing
- Morića Han at mid-morning when the light hits the arches
- The view from Yellow Fortress at sunset (on your own time — we do not sprint uphill on the free tour)
- Coppersmiths who still let you watch the hammer work
- The exact spot where Ottoman and Austrian Sarajevo touch on Ferhadija
Beyond the free tour
Genuine Sarajevo also runs day trips and war-history experiences — see all tours. For what to expect on the walk itself, read the complete free tour guide and why we use the free model.
