Eating while walking Baščaršija
Sarajevo street food is not street food in the Asian sense — you sit, even for ćevapi. But you can chain short stops into a walking food day if you pace yourself and share portions.
Essential stops
Ćevapi with somun — grilled minced meat in soft flatbread, onions, kajmak. Near Kazandžiluk; follow locals, not menus in six languages.
Burek — spiral pastry with meat, cheese, or spinach. Eat mid-morning when bakeries are freshest.
Bosnian coffee — not espresso; slow, social, served with rahat lokum. Budget 15 minutes minimum.
Tufahija or baklava — sweet stops afternoon or evening.
