Why Mostar still matters
The Old Bridge (Stari Most) is Bosnia's postcard — Ottoman engineering rebuilt after war destruction, divers in summer, cobbled old bazaar spilling toward the Neretva. A Mostar day trip from Sarajevo is long but doable; combining it with Blagaj, Počitelj, and Kravice makes the drive worth every minute.
Going independently vs on a tour
Independent: rent a car, leave by 7 a.m., accept navigation stress and parking hunts in Mostar old town.
Organised tour: door-to-door pickup, guide narrative, timed entries, swim stop logistics at Kravice — better value for most visitors unless you love driving Balkan highways alone.
